Attempted DIY White Russian, happened to be bloody awesome for the first 'shot'

summer calls for long beach walks, beach hair & practically living at the beach!

& shellebration. A lot of shellebration before you go back to being freezing at your desk.
Let's not think about that now & just enjoy the warm sunshine, m'kay?

Find this book here, a detailed summary of one of, apparently, one the happiest countries on earth.
Reading about Norway & in fact anything (positive) about Norway throws some happy glitter on me.
Norway is calling me to come on over & visit.
It's obnoxiously expensive & far, far away from Australia, but there is Norway I would even think of giving it a miss!
Watch this step, I'm finding a Norway to go there!

Recipe for healthy nutella can be found in this "Happy Cookbook".
Thanks Lola Berry!
It's what we've missed out on our whole lives!

What's your favourite mug?
I am obsessed with this babushka mug.
Got it for 50c at an op shop.
Find another babushka mug here & a pattern laden mug that comes with two placemats; one Babushka print & one polka dot.
Quite the treat for a thoroughly hygge night in!
But I'm not giving away my babushka mug to noone, not even to a Russian babushka herself, & definitely not you!
Back off, it's my mug!

Summer calls for sparkling water. For Christmas my brother & his wife got me this notoriously gassy thing
Seriously, it seems to be powered by beans.
Now if you think drinking water is boring, just this one a shot!
The bubbles will make water drinking fun!
Bubbles!
Oh my goodness I'm such a child at heart.
look! First bubbles now this!
C'mon, you're never too old to swing, m'kay?

Summer also calls for white sandals with gemstorn denim shorts & floral tops, especially when they are light blue. (excuse the fact that the items I'm wearing vs the items in the links are not the same!)
Summer basically calls for blight* blue. Blight blue shorts, blight blue blouse, blight blue ocean, blight blue sky!
*means light blue, bright blue or both. Combining the two words makes the summer life so much easier, mate!

For my last (aha well one of 'em) drinks of 2016, I attempted a White Russian cocktail.
Used cooled coffee, coffee ice cubes, 1.5 shots o' Smirnoff & the compulsory full cream milk.
Devastatingly I did not have any coffee liqueur.
I'm afraid I'll have to make it again.
Leaving out liqueur is not very Russian, is it?
I was a naughty girl & also drank a topped up shot of Bailey's & a glass o' Coke Jack into the new year.

Please leave a link to your happy snaps in a comment below, whether it's a snap happy blog post or your IG feed.
Peace out mate x

Can you actually cram a mammoth feast of fries, a burger & a shake all at once?

I waited patiently for the clock to strike 5pm...
To try this hot new burger spot.
I always crave a good burger!
Plus some salty, fatty & carby fries.
& last but not least, a thick, icy, tall, sweet & creamy milkshake.
To wash all that artery-clogging goodness down.
 With more artery-clogging goodness.
But can you do it all at once?
Let's investigate...

first thing first I'm a realist the menu is short, simple & cheap but bloody unique, mate!
If you think the menu's just a sum of a simple burger, plain fries & a strawberry/caramel/other standard flavoured milkshake, you're delusional!
Well I don't blame you if you've never seen the menu, but have been to many boring burgers!
The menu simply a selection of burgers, fries & shakes.
Simple!
But far from boring!
The burgers are meaty, saucy, cheesy & unique.
The fries are loaded with irresistible toppings.
The shakes are nothing short of imaginative.
Please excuse the quality, but look!

Don't forget the ambience!
Full of like-minded Aussies (maybe foreigners too) dressed casually & coming in for a good feed.
If you are planning to go to Australia & you wanna gain insight into authentic, local life, come to a cheap burger in a small town, like here in Woolgoolga, NSW!
That's the waydago, honey.
Just make sure it's a fun cheap burger, not a radically boring one, m'kay?
Look, ya really can't go wrong with colourful murals!
Can we take a moment to gawk at?

Anyway, back to the burgers!
I opted for the Grainsta & loaded Guacamole fries.
The loaded fries were an easy choice because guac was the only vegetarian option.
The burger, well, I'll have to keep coming back to try all the vego/pesco options.
Speaking of which looks a little... little (did not think to get the extra patty; doh!) but the fries?
Oh la la, they are a load of fries are loaded in a big fat dollop o' creamy goodness, followed by fresh & peppery jalapenos.
Quite the treat!
Look, the fries are loaded with avocados & jalapenos, which are technically vegetables!
The burger patty is made of quinoa & it looks like there's a few pickles in there
Therefore it's healthy meal, m'kay?
M'kay!

Don't burger me, I don't wanna be jalapeno saucy negativity!
M'kay?
Being saucy is bad, m'kay?
Unless you're saucy, as in, you drizzle Heinz on your burger & fries.
Being cheesy is bad, m'kay?
Unless it's cheesy like this:

mmmm are you hungry?
I know you are, ya poor burger!

After much devouring & blowing my nose every 2 seconds (hot dang ya always get jalapeno errybody's nose in the form of...)
Mission demolish-a-burger-&-fries-in-one-sitting accomplished.
Now the table looked nowhere near classy, in fact it looks plain trashy.
Quite literally!
Trashy food invariably ends in a trashy mess.
Fancy food always ends in an elegant 'mess' of, well, a lil' residue on plates that are then neatly stacked with all the cutlery, glass stacks & used serviettes on top, before being taken by the elegant waitress & the table still lookin' pretty & fresh...
But burger getting jalapeno descriptions of fancy restaurants, I'm being saucy keeping you waiting!

Alright, here I am anticipating the round two!
Just be prepared to see the real me, looking ridiculous.

Sipping the Carnival Shake does that.
We all look ridiculous when we taste something ridiculously good!
I warned you.

But you know what's really bloody ridiculous?
This shake!
Look!
fairy floss & popping candy.

Taste the rainbow.
Kick back & experience nirvana.

Such a trashy shake ends up as, well, trash!

Now it's official.
You can cram a burger, fries & milkshake in one sitting.
Well I can.
Maybe we shouldn't do it too often though, or our systems will be crammed with cholesterol!

Have you ever stomached a burger, fries & a shake in one sitting?

PS find this bad boy of a burger spot here
There's a pic of a towering burger sitting on top of a milkshake.
So down for trying that!
Are you?

Lonely Pancake Stack - Single Serving Pancake Recipe

This recipe is the same as this one, except that I've just made it easier & used butter instead of oil!
It was the late afternoon of NYE, & I was starving.
I looked in the fridge, thinking, what should I eat? I'm famished. & it's NYE, so calories don't count.
...
How 'bout a rockin' stack o' pancakes?
Then, this happened...

Ingredients:
1/4 cup plain flour
1 tspn baking powder
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp butter (whoopsees I misread tbsp as tsp, sue me!)
1/4 cup milk
1 egg
Pinch o' salt (take it with a pinch o'salt; if you have no salt, leave it out & it will still probs be delish!)
extra butter for frying

Equipment:
Blender (I use this bad boy)
Ramekin
Tiny tea sift (this recipe is a teeny tiny single server fo' teeny tiny bellies!)

How to:
Sift all dry ingredients into the blender
Add wet ingredients. Hack: crack egg into a ramekin first to check it's a good one.
Blend like a pro
Heat frying pan & add a lil' butter (butter makes errything better)
Fry a good ol' patty, size don't matter. You could make it wide, like a French crepe, or do lots o'lil ones, to make a towering stack. Your call mate.
Flip when patty bubbles. Let it sit a few moments. Whack it onto a plate, mate.
Flippin' repeat. (see what I did there? I'm like the queen of lame puns)
In between stacking 'em, place another plate upside down onto you plate o' stacks, to keep em fine and warm, yo.
When yo stack is ready, drizzle a glistening o' maple syrup & some extra butter, nutella & good quality vanilla ice cream. Vegetables = fo' wimps.
If you're still famished, whip up another batch. I know ya wanna, ya cheeky bugger! *Ahem* I had seconds. *Ahem.*

Notes:
The best way to eat 'em is to skip the stack & just eat 'em fresh & hot from the pan as you go. Then you always eat 'em when they taste the best, not when they are cold & boring! Dip 'em in melted butter & maple syrup & sandwich a lil' ice cream then stuff it in yo' mouth! (maybe I'll do that next time, sounds like fun!)
Also, if you are going to stack 'em, put on the butter first, let it melt, then add errything else. Hunks of cold butter are nasty! You could in fact melt the butter than drizzle on that buttery goodness! Mmmm...

flippin' enjoy mayte. Cheers, happy new year!

Lunch With Loolie & Christmas Displays By David Jones

After an eventful morning of sleeping in and getting lost trying to hunt down green tea soft serve, I met with my sister, Lydia.
We went to a cafe for a lunch of actual substinence and not just empty calories.
But first, coffee x (please excuse the exfoliating burns on my face)
Sipped a delicate cappuccino like a conservative Italian lady. (okay totally stereotypical, I've never been to Italy.)

Lydia had the falafel wrap. I guess she know's that there's life outside planet meat! Mwahahaha!

I went for the mushroom burger and fries. Took aaages to get through as it hurt to chew! Must be all the sweet tooth indulgences. More like sore teeth!

As we digested Lydia went and showed me some Christmas displays by, okay I forget! Sue me. Lydia, who did these displays?

Oh right, David Jones. Ahahaha. Lol.

Just some authentic north pole vibes in the Australian summer.
Queen victoria buildings. It seems like every city department store looks the same; Sydney, Moscow, London, Paris... anyway...

Lydia and I headed to her place. On the way...

Chealsie's 19th Birthday Party

The other Saturday night the lovely Chealsie hosted a rather epic birthday party for her 19th.

I knew no one there but Chealsie herself, her dad and (surprise!) my former TAFE teacher.

I grazed through the night and into the early morning. Well, more liked gorged; Gorged on burger rings, sour worms, smores (the best), liquor and white chocolate cake.

and... chowed down this bad boy...

pop some of these like there was no tommorow... anything to get me away from the food.

Bedtime was approximately 5:00 AM.
